about

Valerie Woodard will be releasing her sophomore album Relationship II: Closer in the early part of 2012.

Meanwhile, she has released a maxi-single compiled of 3 original songs from her forthcoming album available for immediate download on Bandcamp.com, iTunes and CDbaby.com.

The first song “Sweet I Know” is an uplifting offering of praise, underscored with an infectious rhythm that is sure to have listeners singing along. Valerie declares to the world, how sweet God’s love and pays homage to the hymn –He’sSweet, I Know.

The sentiment of the next song “No Words”, can be best summed up by the first line …”I can’t explain the joy that I felt, when you brought me out of darkness, into the marvelous light, free from my sin, your love is so amazing…” The song echoes the feelings of gratitude that come with realizing just how merciful and gracious God’s love is. An orchestral section of violas, congas and timpani drums color this selection with intense emotion.

The last song on the maxi-single is “You’re Here”. The melodic strings on the first 8 bars transcend listeners into an ambient state of mind as Valerie expresses the spiritual transition she makes from praise to worship. Being in the presence of God provokes the heart felt lyrics penned in this song. Valerie sings of God’s grace and the patience He has for us and that His desire is to commune with us.

The 3-track maxi-single is produced by Valerie’s husband and manager Vincent Woodard, and will be released on their record label Whole Armor Recordings.

Valerie is from Hampton, VA and currently is living in Wilson, NC. She has embarked on a journey to impact the world for Christ through music ministry and songwriting, with the birth of her publishing company PsalmTree Publishing.

Track Name: Sweet I Know
He’s Sweet
Written by Valerie E. Woodard for PsalmTree Publishing

I believe in God, I‘m so proud to say
The father, son and Holy Spirit make my day
Surrounding me, precious love, comes from up above and it rains down on me like a shower
Transformed my mind and cleansed my heart
He’s…..so sweet I know,

Chorus
He’s sweet I know, I know, yes I know
He’s sweet I know, I know, yes I know

I can’t forget when I was sad
Head hanging down – soul feeling bad
All I could say is Lord please take my heart
Jesus came and gave me a brand new start
I know too much about him, you can’t make me doubt him.
I know I need Him in my life – Ooh He’s…….so sweet

Chorus
He’s sweet I know, I know, yes I know
He’s sweet I know, I know, yes I know
Track Name: No Words
No Words
Written by Valerie E. Woodard for PsalmTree Publishing

I can’t explain it
The joy that I felt
When you called me out of darkness
Into the marvelous light
Free from my sin
Your love is so amazing

I ……can’t put it in words
I ……can’t put it in words

Sufficient grace
Brand new mercies
With everyday you bring to me
My sword and my shield
Words of correction whenever I need it

I ……can’t put it in words
I ……can’t put it in words

It’s not enough to say I love you
It’s not enough to say that I care
Track Name: You're Here
You’re Here
Written by Valerie E. Woodard for PsalmTree Publishing

I will bow my knees close my eyes
I will raise my hands toward the sky
No one else is here just you and I
At least that’s how it feels when praise turns into worship

You’re here I feel you near me
No better place to be than where you are
Here, you’re here

I’ve been waiting for you
That’s what you say to me
Whenever I’ve been gone too long
So each day I will come and bow in your presence
Knowing all I need can be found in you

You’re here I feel you near me
No better place to be than where you are
Here, here, here, here
